If you are like many homeowners, then you are probably planning on doing a whole house clean this spring. What better time to do a deep clean than after winter ends, after all? If you’re looking for a few home maintenance tips to make cleaning a little bit easier and more efficient, then we’ve got one for you. The following should help make vacuuming the frames of your windows and doors much easier:
The frames of your windows and doors are notoriously difficult to clean, yet they are incredibly easy to get dirty. Dust and dirt has no issues getting itself trapped inside the crevices of your door frames and window frames. However, getting in there with your vacuum cleaner doesn’t usually result in a very good job eliminating dust and dirt – no matter what extension you try to use.
So how exactly can you clean these difficult-to-clean spots? We recommend using a toilet paper roll. These shouldn’t be too hard to come by (assuming you use toilet paper!) and are quite effective. Simply attach a toilet paper roll to the vacuum cleaner’s suction tube. Then bend the roll into whatever shape you need it to be in to make it easier to get in between those crevices. This should make it pretty easy to clean your door frames and window frames. And the great thing about using toilet paper rolls is that you are essentially recycling them for another use, and as vacuum cleaner extensions, they are quite flexible since cardboard is easy to bend and manipulate into whatever shape you want.
