Heart of America Hot Dog Festival
August 13
Baseball and hot dogs go together, so it makes sense that the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum hosts the annual Heart of America Hot Dog Festival. Enjoy ballpark hot dogs, including Kansas City’s signature Monarch Dog. Legendary R&B group, ConFunkShun, heads a list of world-class performers. And the 2nd Annual Summer Sizzler Corvette Show is joining the festivities this year.
Ethnic Enrichment Festival
August 19-21
This weekend extravaganza takes you around the world, without leaving Kansas City. Experience culinary delights from dozens of countries, along with music, dancing, and diverse cultural experiences at this one-of-a-kind annual event.
Bacon-Fest: The Other Fundraiser
August 27
Summer is sizzling with the scent of bacon—from bacon-flavored beverages (vodka, beer, soda) to just about anything that can be wrapped, stuffed, or seasoned with bacon. Every vendor is provided with 30 pounds of bacon! And the bacon-eating contest tests the limits of your bacon boundaries. Bacon-Fest raises money to empower individuals with disabilities achieve their full potential by offering therapeutic, educational, and rehabilitation services.
