While there will continue to be plenty of outdoor activities in Kansas City that you and your family can participate in throughout August, there’s a chance that the summer heat might be keeping you inside. However, there are a number of great outdoor activities in Kansas City that will allow you to cool off while still letting you enjoy the outdoors. The following are a few places that we suggest you go this August in order to cool off from the August heat:

The Budd Park Pool

This popular pool, which is shaped in a large circle and contains a small fountain in the center, is quite popular among residents. It will remain open until September 7th. Beginning August 10th, the pool will be open on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on weekends from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Until then, the pool will be open during the week from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Regular admission is $3, six punch passes are $12 and individual season passes are $25.

Loose Park Sprayground

Don’t feel like dealing with the crowds or going for a swim? Then take the kids to the Loose Park Playground and let them run around through the water sprays. The sprayground is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM until September 7th. Admission is free, but picnic tables cost $25 to rent for a two hour block.

The Springs Aquatic Center

Open from noon to 8:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM on weekends until September 7th, this aquatic center boasts all kinds of water features, including multiple water slides. Admission ranges from $3 to $9.
