Listed below are guidelines taxpayers will need to follow in order to be eligible for the 2011 tax credit:

Purchase and install qualifying products beginning January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. Tax credit is for the cost of product only - it does not include installation costs. Tax credit is for taxpayer's principal residence only.

Tax credit is 10% of product costs or a maximum amount of $500 for qualifying entry doors (cannot exceed $500 total tax credit). If the homeowner has taken a tax credit of $500 or more for any energy efficiency products in the 2006 through 2010 tax years, they are not eligible for this tax credit in 2011.

Taxpayer must have a manufacturer's statement to qualify.
